It was one day we went climbing in Hatfield Uni. There was a track that had a color between green and yellow, so we called it the fluorescent track. It was quite a hard one for me, and rather regular for Tom. So Tom decided to challenge me (He knew I am a competitive person, and he would always push me to give more, especially at sport and climbing). So yeah Tom challenged me on that Fluorescence track by telling me he would climb it (me belaying), write a word at the top of the wall with chalk, then I would have to climb the track (him belaying) to discover the word he had written. Being motivated with this challenge, I managed to finish the track, and discovered the word. He wrote "Flourescent" with the misspelling. But he did not realize he had misspelled it. He admitted he was bad at spelling and English in general, but we had a very long laugh , and still months afterward, we would remember this.

He loved listening to me translating live french songs in English, especially after a couple of beers. I'm sure he has some recordings on his phone. It was really fabulous moments.

We first met Thomas in 2012, when my eldest son began his karate journey. Right from the start, Thomas was an inspiration. Children, including my own, held him in high regard, and he effortlessly assumed the role of mentor to the younger students, showcasing patience and kindness far beyond his years. His influence was profound, with even my youngest naming his first pet fish after him.
When I decided to join my boys in karate, Thomas was not only their role model but also my guide. Through private lessons and extra practice sessions, he generously shared his wealth of knowledge, ensuring I could keep up with the pace. His maturity was exceptional, his demeanor always composed, and his wisdom seemingly limitless.
Training alongside Thomas went beyond mere technique; it was about embracing his dedication and humility. He infused every class with his infectious enthusiasm, making each session a fun occasion. Though his time with us was tragically cut short, his impact on our lives was immeasurable. Thomas left an indelible mark on countless individuals, young and old, inspiring us all with his remarkable spirit and his ability to excel in any endeavor he chose to pursue.

All I can hear every time I think about you is you saying ‘you alriteee’ as you walked in with a smile.
You were a training partner, a friend, a godparent and most recently a soft play buddy. Thank you seriously thank you for loving my kids and having time for them and being part of our family, they loved you too and Im heartbroken that they will never have that time with you again but I know they will always have a guardian angel!
You were a great person and a great friend.
We love and miss you.

Tom was a huge part of our children’s lives growing up. He was a friend, a teacher and a fantastic sparring partner for Will.
We are so very saddened to hear of his accident and we wish his family much love and strength at this sad time.
Tom, you will be missed greatly

Our Tom,
I couldn’t have asked for a better cousin, or friend, from the off. 2 days apart, nature couldn’t have planned it much better. I love you and I always will. There is so much I want to say to you and show you, which seems silly because all it would’ve taken was a message, but I thought we had the rest of our lives to share these moments with each other. Thank you for helping me over milestones, even now that you’re gone. I bet you’ve got no idea how much of an inspiration you were to me for our whole lives.
You were always better than me at everything and it would annoy the shit out of me, but I am distraught that I won’t get to watch you go on to do fantastic things. I am distraught that I will never be able to speak to you again, hug you again, laugh with you again.
I sit strong in the belief that you have found Grandma and you are looking after each other up there and watching down so you can see just how many people you inspired, how many people loved you. You are an amazing, inspirational, kind, caring, passionate, motivated young man Tom, may you live on through us.
I can’t thank the world enough for letting me have you in my life.
I love you forever and always,
Alanah
